The short answer

A light jet from Teterboro to Naples takes about two hours and forty minutes, and a one-way charter usually costs between about $10,000 and $21,500 depending on the aircraft and the date. Naples Municipal Airport (APF) is about four miles from Fifth Avenue South, has a 6,600-foot runway and two FBOs, and it is the right airport for almost every Naples trip. What most people don't know: the airport bars aircraft above 75,000 pounds with dual-wheel landing gear, which rules out a Gulfstream G550 or a Global 6500, and it has not allowed any aircraft fueling between 9:30 pm and 6:30 am since May 2022. A late arrival that needs fuel for the trip home has to plan around that.

How long is the flight from Teterboro to Naples?

Estimates. Block time is the gate-to-gate figure: the distance divided by typical cruise speeds (about 300 knots for turboprops and 400 to 460 knots for jets), plus roughly 20 minutes for taxi, climb and descent. Winds can add or take away ten minutes or more. The largest heavy and ultra-long-range jets are not listed because of the weight limit at Naples.

How much does a private jet from Teterboro to Naples cost?

Estimated ranges as of October 2026, in US dollars, including the 7.5% federal excise tax. These are estimates from published hourly rates, not quotes.

Turboprop$9,000 to $20,500$18,000 to $34,000

What goes into the price

A Naples charter is priced on the flight time, roughly two and a half hours each way, plus what it costs to get the aircraft back. A Teterboro aircraft that drops you in Naples usually flies home empty, and flies down empty again to collect you. A one-way trip therefore often costs well over half of a round trip.

The rest is the usual:

  • the 7.5% federal excise tax and a $5.30 per-passenger segment fee in 2026
  • handling at Teterboro and the FBO in Naples
  • catering
  • ramp or overnight parking if the aircraft stays

De-icing at Teterboro is possible in winter, which is also when most Naples trips are flown.

Naples fees. We couldn’t find a published landing fee schedule for Naples Municipal. The FBO listing says ramp fees at Naples Aviation are waived with a minimum fuel purchase. The jet fuel price at both FBOs is listed on AirNav, and the airport authority itself is the fuel supplier at Naples Jet Center. Jake asks the FBO for the fee sheet and passes it on before you commit.

What makes this route cheaper or more expensive

Aircraft size. The weight limit at Naples (below) removes the largest cabins from the choice. Within the limit, a light jet is the cheapest option that carries six or seven people and bags nonstop.

Day and time. Weekend, holiday and festival departures are the hardest to staff. Midweek flights, and morning departures from Teterboro, leave more room to reposition the aircraft.

How long you stay. A same-day return costs less than leaving the aircraft overnight, but leaves you few hours on the ground. If the aircraft stays, ask what the FBO charges for parking and whether the crew needs a hotel.

Empty legs on this route

Aircraft often fly to Florida full and return empty, so empty legs on a Naples run are possible. That is a pattern broker experience would suggest, not a published statistic. Charter Jet One’s own figure for the saving on an empty leg is up to 75%.

Two illustrative examples:

  • Southbound. A light jet is positioning from Teterboro to Naples to collect a family on Sunday. You could fly down with it.
  • Northbound. A midsize jet has dropped a group in Naples and is returning to New Jersey with nobody aboard. You could fly up with it.

These show how empty legs arise. They aren’t flights for sale. They follow the operator’s timing and can change at short notice.

Departing from Teterboro

Teterboro is about 12 miles from Midtown, roughly 22 minutes in free-flow traffic. It has runways of 6,997 and 6,014 feet and FBOs from Jet Aviation, Atlantic and Signature. The airport asks for voluntary restraint between 11 pm and 6 am, and runway 24 departures are limited to 80 decibels at night. On a daytime flight to Naples neither matters.

Arriving in Naples

The airport. Naples Municipal Airport (APF) is inside the city of Naples. By road it is about 4 miles and 10 minutes without traffic to the Fifth Avenue South area.

Runways. There are two paved runways:

  • 5/23, 6,600 feet long, with displaced thresholds that leave 5,000 feet available for landing
  • 14/32, 5,001 feet

The tower is open from 6 am to 10 pm.

FBOs. Naples Aviation and Naples Jet Center. The airport authority sells the fuel at Naples Jet Center.

Ground transport. Jake arranges a car to meet you at the FBO. With a short drive, a car and driver is usually simpler than a rental.

The weight limit

Naples limits aircraft with dual-wheel landing gear to a maximum gross weight of 75,000 pounds, with exceptions for public agency and emergency flights. NBAA says some large jets can operate within the limit with a flight manual supplement, and that heavier jets may need to fly to Fort Myers.

Using the figures in our aircraft reference:

Aircraft Maximum takeoff weight At or under 75,000 lb
Challenger 650 48,200 lb Yes
Gulfstream G450 74,600 lb Yes, narrowly
Gulfstream G550 91,000 lb No
Global 6500 99,500 lb No
Global 7500 114,850 lb No

That is a comparison of published weights with the airport’s limit. Whether a particular aircraft is accepted is something the operator checks with the airport. For a larger cabin, Fort Myers is the practical alternative.

Night rules

Naples is a noise-sensitive airport, and the FAA Chart Supplement says so. Three things matter for charter planning:

  • Voluntary curfew. The airport asks all aircraft to avoid flying from 10 pm to 7 am. It’s voluntary because federal law limits what the airport can enforce.
  • Fueling closed overnight. Since May 1, 2022, the airport has not allowed aircraft fueling between 9:30 pm and 6:30 am. Medical, sheriff and mosquito-control flights are exempt. We know of this rule from the airport authority’s 2022 announcement, so Jake confirms it is still in force on your date.
  • Run-ups. Engine run-ups are not permitted from 10 pm to 7 am.

In calm winds at night, runway 23 is used for arrivals and runway 5 for departures.

If you want an evening departure from Naples, fuel before 9:30 pm, or ask the crew to fuel earlier in the afternoon.

Seasons and events

Event Dates
Naples Winter Wine Festival January 29 to 31, 2027

When to book. For festival weekends and school holidays, ask for a quote as early as you can. Late arrivals are the hardest to fit around the airport’s night rules.

Which aircraft fits best

A light jet such as a Phenom 300E or a Citation CJ3 is the natural choice for up to six or seven people. A midsize jet gives more room for bags and golf clubs on the same flight time. A super-midsize such as a Challenger 350 suits eight or nine passengers. Heavy jets are available only within the weight limit, so they are rarely the first choice.

How Jake handles this route

Jake checks that the operator is ARGUS Gold or Platinum rated, confirms the aircraft is within Naples’ weight limit, and gets the FBO’s fee sheet in writing. He plans the return around the airport’s fueling closure and the voluntary curfew, so a late evening departure doesn’t leave the crew stuck. He arranges a car at the FBO and, if you wish, meets you on the ramp at Teterboro before departure.

Questions people ask about Teterboro to Naples

How long is the private jet flight from New York to Naples, Florida?

About 2 hours 40 minutes from Teterboro in a light jet, and about 2 hours 25 minutes in a super-midsize, gate to gate. The great-circle distance is about 962 nautical miles.

How much does a private jet from New York to Naples cost?

Roughly $10,000 to $21,500 one way in a light jet and $12,500 to $27,000 in a midsize jet, as an estimate for October 2026. A one-way trip often costs close to a round trip because the aircraft usually flies back empty.

Which airport do private jets use for Naples?

Naples Municipal Airport (APF), which is inside the city. It has a 6,600-foot main runway and two FBOs, Naples Aviation and Naples Jet Center. Fort Myers is the usual alternative if an aircraft is too heavy for Naples.

Can a large private jet land at Naples Airport?

Only up to a point. The airport limits aircraft with dual-wheel landing gear to a maximum gross weight of 75,000 pounds. A Challenger 650 or a Gulfstream G450 (74,600 lb) is within the limit. A Gulfstream G550 (91,000 lb) or a Global 6500 (99,500 lb) is not.

Is there a curfew at Naples Airport?

There is a voluntary one, from 10 pm to 7 am, and the Chart Supplement says voluntary restrictions apply to all operations in those hours. Separately, the airport stopped all aircraft fueling between 9:30 pm and 6:30 am from May 1, 2022. The tower is open 6 am to 10 pm.

What happens if my flight to Naples is late in the evening?

The aircraft can still land, because the curfew is a request and not a ban. The bigger practical issue is fuel: with fueling closed overnight, the crew may need to fuel before 9:30 pm or wait until the morning for the trip home.

How far is Naples Airport from Fifth Avenue South?

About 4 miles, around 10 minutes without traffic.

What does it cost to land a private jet at Naples?

We couldn't find a published landing fee schedule for Naples. The FBO listing says ramp fees are waived with a minimum fuel purchase at Naples Aviation. Jake gets the fees in writing from the FBO when he books.

Can I clear customs at Naples when flying in from abroad?

Yes, with prior permission. The FAA Chart Supplement lists a U.S. Customs service at Naples every day, arranged in advance on 239-430-9321. The listed hours differ between sources, so Jake confirms them for your date.

When is the Naples Winter Wine Festival?

January 29 to 31, 2027, according to the festival's website, with the live auction at The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburon.
